I went to the grocery today and spent over $150. Way too much! But, I bought TONS of salmon, beef, chicken, and pork. They were having huge bargains since the 4th is tomorrow. For a 1/2 lb of salmon, it was only around $2. Just over $2 for chicken tenders. Now, my freezer is full, and of healthy lean meats and fish!
I hope everyone is planning on having a good time for the 4th. We are going to the IL house for a cookout. I am planning on bringing both watermelon and a healthy salad so that I will have something to eat that is good on points. I hope everyone is planning this kind of thing for the 4th so that they are prepared for cookouts.
I had a great workout at the gym and even took the LO with me. The LO only cried a tiny bit and I worked out for a total of 40 mins. I went back and forth between cario and weights. When I felt my heartrate start to slow, I would jump back on the treadmill for a while. It said that I only earned 3 points, but it felt like more like 4 points. But, I only counted the 3.
Have a great 4th!

OK WI
I got on the scale and had lost 1 pound. I am very happy to be losing. Sometimes, I want to whine because I wish I could lose at superfastlightening speed. That's how I gain, after all! But, when I really think about it, a little at a time does me just fine! I am better off than where I started. And I will continue to be better off.
I am so proud. The LO won at a baby contest at a local fair. I was against going, but my husband and his family thought it would be great. I am glad we did it now that the LO won! Blue ribbon, too!
I hope everyone keeps up with their good spirits about good eating habits. I know weekends can be discouraging for us. However, it is for the best to work hard. This is a lifetime thing we've got going on. Either you decide it is worth being healthy, or you give up. Giving up, in my opinion, is a good way to a shorter, more stressful life. This lifestyle will help me live longer for my kid, my husband, my family, my students. I WANT to be around for them!

Saturdays can be so rough!
I think that Saturdays can be rough because it is like a celebration every week. "Woohoo, we don't have to work! What are we going to do with our day?" So, then my H and I plan fun things. The problem is that fun times can usually equal lots of food. I am trying to plan in advance. I have had a good amount of points today so that I don't overdo it at dinner.
3 pt breakfast idea for you all:
Pepperidge Farm 100% Whole Wheat english muffin (2 pts)
1 t peanut butter (1 pt)
1/2 t honey (0 pts)
For lunch, I made a "ready in minutes" type frozen family meal. It was from Kroger. I decided against using the sauce that came with the ingredients b/c it looked high in pts (aka buttery). I just used evoo. It had linguine, shrimp, tomato, and brocolli. It was OK.
Dinner will be at Arni's. I don't think those are national, though. In fact, I am sure of it. It's a pizza place, but they have awesome salads. It's where I learned to love salad. Mostly because the salads all have tons of cheese and the blue cheese dressing is wonderful! I am, however, going to opt for the fat-free French instead. Hopefully, it will still be good. I am going to order the cheese, ham, and turkey on the side so that I can control the amount.
Then, H wants to go to Ritter's (another local place) for frozen custard since we have coupons. The dreaded coupons! How can we pass up cheap treats? So, I am going to get the sugar-free ice cream with strawberries and only eat 1/2 cup.
If I keep to this plan for this evening, then I will not go over my points. I like to eat my daily points, but I try not to use the AP very much.
Oh, and another thing about my day (you are fascinated, I know): I woke up and went to my ultra-cool Piloga class this morning, only to find it had been canceled. Boo! Instead of sulking home, I worked out by myself. I had a 40 min workout. I would go back and forth between weights and cardio so that I could keep my heartrate up. I feel good after working out.
Wish me luck with leaving the LO for a whole night with the in-laws. I get to missing the LO if I'm away too long! It will be a great date night, though!

I JOGGED!
I jogged! I jogged, I jogged, I jogged! I am so excited!
I jogged for a mile. Well, pretty much the whole mile. Maybe like 0.8 of a mile. I was very slow, but I did it! I was on the treadmill. My husband and I took the LO to the gym with us. It's the first time the LO has gone to the gym, and just stayed in the little car seat/carrier that we have. Fell asleep after a bit, too.
I feel athletic today! Next time I feel like not working out, I need to read this post and see how good it makes me feel. When I went to the personal trainer last night, I nearly keeled over! I almost passed out, and this is the second time it has happened. It was because I did not do any cario all week long. That will not happen again!
We are having ribs for dinner, which are terrible for you. However, I saw Tyler Florence prepare them on the Food TV, and thought they looked great. My husband LOVES ribs so much. I will only eat the 4 oz that I am alloting myself. I am going to calculate how many ribs that is. Then, I will also have to allow for the BBQ sauce. I have enough points leftover for this kind of dinner. That is why I love WW! You can eat the small quantity of those delicious foods and not feel like you've ruined your diet! We'll have watermelon and new potatoes, too.
Oh, btw, did I mention: I jogged today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Fabulous 6 Pt Pizza Lunch
Wheat tortilla (2 pts)
1 t olive oil (1 pt)
2 T tomato paste (0 pts)
Italian seasoning, garlic powder to taste
1/4 cup shredded Italian cheese blend (2 pts)
Mushrooms (0 pts)
Ham (1 pt)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spread olive oil on one side of the tortilla. This helps the tortilla become crisp. Flip it over and lay it on a baking sheet. Spread the other side with tomato paste. Sprinkle Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Spread half of the cheese over the paste. Pile on the ham and mushrooms. Spread the rest of the cheese over the pizza. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
The husband even liked this one!

A Tough Workout
I worked out with my personal trainer today. I have not done my 30 min of cardio for the last few days, so it was a rough one! I actually felt very lightheaded and fatigued. There was a ringing in my ears. I need to keep up on the cardio!
I had a dip today for lunch that was very good. I used the leftover black beans, some garlic and a sprinkle of cheese. I dipped them with Guiltless Gourmet baked tortilla chips. Very yummy!
I had better tend to the screaming LO now!

Filling and yummy lunch!
Today for lunch, I had a black bean burrito. It consisted of 1/2 cup black beans from a can (1 pt), 1/4 cup of cheese (2 pts), & a wheat tortilla (2 pts). I mixed the beans with some garlic, and topped them with fresh cilantro. It was very flavorful and filling for only 5 pts!
It would have been better if I would have chosen not to eat a Hostess snack (1 pt), and 3 Hershey sticks (4 pts). I was just bragging, too, about how I can eat only 1 Hershey stick since they are dark chocolate! That is what I get for bragging!
LO (little one) is crying!!! Gotta go!

Subway for Lunch
I met my mom for lunch. This was off of my plan, but worked out well since Subway has some good options. I got a turkey on wheat (5 pts) with light mayo (1 pt) and provolone cheese (1 pt). Oh, I can't forget to calculate my 7 Doritos! Those are 2 pts. My lunch was a total of 9 pts.
I am now going to have my snack. I am HUNGRY!
I had to buy an undergarment for a bridesmaid dress. I hope that I will look ok in it! The dress, I mean! Hopefully everyone will just be in awe of the bride and ignore me and my post-baby weight!
Too hungry to type any more!

My New Life
Hello, everyone!
I know that there are a million people out there who blog, but this is newish to me. I am very excited about it, though! I have decided to blog in order to help my weight loss journey. I have joined Weight Watchers. It is a great program! This is the second time that I have done the program.
It is important to always ask "why" when a goal is not met. I think that I did not have a connection the first time around, and therefore lost motivation. This blog will help to connect me to my weight loss journey. It also helps to write about things that matter to me.
I was blogging for a few weeks, and the server went down and my blog was lost. So, I have created this one. I think it really bothered me not to write. I ate 2 pieces of pizza--light pizza, but still. It did not "ruin my diet" since it was only a total of 10 points, but it was not really a step in the right direction.
I also had WI today, and had lost 2 pounds. I would like to buy a better scale. If anyone has a suggestion, let me know!
I would also like to plan ahead better. For tomorrow, I would like to have 3 meals + 1 snack.
For breakfast: WW toast & egg, 1 peach
For lunch: wheat wrap w/ ham, peas, 1 pc. dk. chocolate
Afternoon snack: Cheese & Triscuits
For dinner: Potatoes, BBQ drumstick, brocolli
